PIX-NEON CORE is where Mardroid gets his first taste of what it's like to have a body. The opening cutscene Illustrates the fear and alien nature of stepping into a new life.
Even though technically there's more freedom of motion in CORE than there was in BEAT, the game is designed to feel more restrictive. Being that this is the first time in a physical body, the juxtaposition of CORE against BEAT --corporeal against ethereal is important.
In Mercedes, Mardroid realizes that the human body is his new home and that there is an unfamiliar beauty to it. He explores his new domain, experiencing internal organs, muscles, and bones for the first time.
Propulsion is about trying to find out what's living in the darkness of this new life. Nothing makes sense and everything is so very vast.
Level 3 illustrates the concept of technically one's thoughts. Ideas float in the background and the music is playful and energetic. In this level, Mardroid harnesses his creativity.
